HCPH COVID-19 Vaccinations for Ages 5 - 17

The Pfizer vaccine has been approved for use by 5 - 17 years of age. At this time, Pfizer is the only vaccine approved for this age group. Both the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson can only be administered to individuals 18+ years of age.

When registering through Harris County Public Health's VacsTrac system, please keep the following in mind:

  • Parents or guardians who register their children through ReadyHarris.org must choose a location that provides Pfizer when given the option to schedule an appointment.
  • Parents or guardians who have scheduled an appointment for their child but do not accompany their child to the vaccination need to sign a Parental Consent Form to authorize their children to get the vaccine.
  • If children between 5 - 17 go to the vaccination site without an appointment, a parent or guardian must accompany their child to provide verbal or written consent. A Parental Consent Form will be provided.

Other Local Vaccine Providers

The facilities listed below are not operated by Harris County Public Health (HCPH) or Houston Health Department (HHD) - and may not be a comprehensive list of COVID-19 vaccine providers in the county. Contact providers in advance to confirm vaccination location and hours, that they have COVID-19 vaccines on hand, and that you are eligible for vaccination at that site. Not all providers are vaccinating the public or people in all priority groups. Vaccine is available at no charge, regardless of insurance states.
