Healthy in Harris County

MANE, HOL’ UP! Who says chronic disease has to hold you down and settle for anything less than a full, healthy life?  While the language is playful, we take your health seriously. At HCPH, we want you to focus on chronic disease by giving you the tools to "remix" your daily routine. Whether you’re hitting the trails or rounding up healthier meals, use these resources to stay on the right path for a vibrant life—AWLREADY!

OUR STORY

Healthy in Harris County is more than just a resource hub. It's a movement inspired by the lifeblood of Harris County, the local culture of our community members, and the unique lifestyle they lead. Using the concept of taking something that exists and refining it to make it better, this platform and its accompanying journal equally hope to empower communities to transform their habits in order to become the best versions of themselves.

Our mission is to protect health, prevent disease and injury, while promoting the well-being of everyone in Harris County. By providing community members with actionable insights into nutrition, exercise, and mental strength, we are bridging the gap between public health and day-to-day life.  From event and resource linkages to toolkits for community organizations, we ensure our community can thrive and find the tools they need to live abundantly.

We envision a Harris County where all people can achieve their full potential for health and well-being.  This concept drives us to build a foundation where longevity and fulfillment are reachable for every community member, regardless of their background or circumstances. Together, we are refining the landscape of public wellness, one remix at a time, to ensure a vibrant and healthy future for the entire community.
