Provides year-round monitoring of adult mosquito populations for mosquito-borne disease presence. Activities involve trapping and collecting mosquitoes at designated locations, followed by sorting and identifying them for testing. Provides year-round monitoring for vector-borne disease in local and migratory bird populations. The live bird program involves capturing birds in the field, bird banding, sera collection, and release back into the environment. Mouth swab samples are also collected from nestlings, or young birds, for testing. The dead bird program allows us to collect and test dead birds reported in the community.
