Get Tested For COVID-19 Now

HCPH encourages residents to get tested for COVID-19 if you feel you have it or have been in contact with someone who tested positive. We are prioritizing our first responders and healthcare professionals, especially those who work with vulnerable populations such as nursing homes, to seek testing as well.

Please check back often as these documents or resources may have updates or new information added.

Availability and operating hours of mobile testing sites may be impacted by weather conditions and/or experience longer wait times. Follow @hcphtx on Twitter for the latest updates.

How To Get Tested

To make it easier to gain access to testing, the Houston and Harris County Public Health has developed a tool that allows you to check your symptoms and schedule an appointment with a testing facility.

Take the Self-Assessment survey to see if you qualify for testing and schedule an appointment now.

For employees who do not have access to the online tool, you can call 832-927-7575 to get scheduled for testing.

Free testing is available regardless of citizenship status and for those who are uninsured.

Find A Testing Site Near You

The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has put together a comprehensive list of drive thru testing locations across the state of Texas. To access the map and to find a testing facility near you, view the desktop or mobile version.

Additional testing sites may be found on the TX COVID-19 Test Collection Sites map compiled by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and URISA GISCorps.

Prior to visiting a testing site, it is encouraged to call ahead to ensure that hours and location represented in these resources are accurate. As many facilities require an appointment for testing, it is advised to schedule one ahead of time.

Acquiring Test Results

You will be contacted via phone call if test results are positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The call will come from 1-833-447-0001 and may show as Results Center on your phone's Caller ID. 

If you receive a call from this number, please answer the phone. In order to protect your privacy, the caller will not be permitted to leave a voice message should the call be missed. The Results Center will only attempt two follow-up calls. 

If you miss both of these calls, you are required to wait until your test results are posted online. Instructions for accessing test results online from the Pasadena Testing Site, Cy-Fair Testing Site, Quest Diagnostics, or LabCorp, please refer to the Public Testing Information: Acquiring Test Results document below.

Testing Results for TDEM Mobile Testing Sites

If you visited a mobile testing site run by the Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM), it is important to note that test results may be prolonged compared to other sites in the area. Results will be available 5 - 10 days after testing. If results are positive for COVID-19, your local health department will contact you directly from the Results Center number (i.e., 1-833-447-0001). If negative, you will receive an automated phone call instead.
