A healthy eating plan that can help you achieve your weight goal includes a selection of foods you have may not considered. If “eating healthy” makes you think about the foods you and your family can’t have, refocus on all the new foods you and your family can eat –
- Fresh fruits – don’t think just oranges or grapes. These are great choices, but try some exotic” fruits such as kiwis and mangos to your snack and dessert menu. Not only do they taste great, they provide variety to your meal.
- Fresh vegetables – try something new. You may find you love grilled vegetables or steamed with an herb you haven’t tried like rosemary.
- Calcium-rich foods – dairy products have the most calcium, but you can add even more by eating broccoli, spinach as well as some breads!
- A new twist of an old favorite - if your favorite recipe calls for frying fish or breaded chicken, consider healthier variations such as baking or grilling.
