The Harris County Public Health (HCPH) Refugee Health Screening Program contracts with the U.S. Committee For Refugees and Immigrants to oversee refugee health screening in Harris County. Refugees are officially recognized individuals by the U.S. government. Texas is the second largest refugee resettlement state in the United States.
In operation for over 10 years, we are the only screening clinic for refugees in Harris County and we currently serve as the largest Refugee Health Screening Program in the state. The HCPH RHSP provides the following services:
- Physical examinations
- Screening for Tuberculosis and other infectious diseases
- Immunizations
- Basic screening laboratory tests
- Referrals to primary care providers
