Shelter Services

  • Animal turn-in:
    • Animals that are from the unincorporated areas of Harris County will be accepted during regular lobby hours.  Map of Local Animal Control by County.
    • Fees may be charged for turning in multiple animals.
        
  • Lost pet search:
    • In person - Visit our shelter during regular lobby hours
    • Telephone - Give a description of your animal and the address the animal went missing from and we can check our records for a match during regular phone hours.  
      We still recommend visiting the shelter immediately if you have lost your pet. 
    • Website - View pictures of animals in the shelter on our Find A Lost Pet page.

      • 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.  Photos are updated multiple times each day.   
       
  • License: 
    • A Harris County pet license can be purchased in person with proof of current rabies vaccination during regular lobby hours
